My Story
Who lied to us to grow up and get a job? And should that one job that you have (or are striving towards) call all the shots in your life? Not that long ago, I believed my career equaled who I was. After all, we spend so much of our waking lives working, that we let work completely take over our identity.
Even though my true calling was theatre and the arts, I left those passions behind me for the relatively safe life provided by a corporate career. The more I worked, the more achievements I had, the more progression I unlocked, and the more people started to notice me. I was always delivering above and beyond. People loved the results, and in turn, me. It became an addiction.
I achieved so much by the time I reached my 30s and yet felt so out of touch with my true purpose. What's more, I never considered myself good enough even when hard evidence was pointing to the contrary. After various episodes of work related burnout, whilst navigating the emotional whirlwind of becoming a mother and fighting postpartum depression, I realised that something’s gotta change.
The solution? Today, I strive to build a life where I take centre stage, where my passions for art & theatre weave into and complement my professional journey. In other words, my work is just another canvas for expressing my authentic self. From implementing people strategies or coaching professionals, to taking to the stage and painting on the side, my journey embodies the essence of a portfolio career. It's not about settling for either-or; it's about embracing the richness of a multifaceted professional identity (Lights, camera, action 🎭.)
My mission is to help other people rewrite their professional stories or rediscover forgotten parts of themselves, so they can gain confidence and clarity in building their careers around their lives, not the other way around. You might wonder why I do this? It is my belief that we owe it to ourselves to live a fulfilled life and break free from obsolete patterns, so that we can nurture the next generation of accountable, self-aware and authentic adults, who are capable of making positive changes in the world.
