Career Counselling for Multidisciplinary Professionals
What if your work could be an expression of your whole identity?
Everyone tells you to niche down. To choose one thing, get really good at it, and build your career around it.
But what do you do when you’re good at more than one thing? When you have experience in different fields, interests that seemingly have nothing to do with each other, and you don’t want to give up half of them just so you can give a simple answer to the question, “What do you do for a living?”
And how do you fit all of that into a CV? What do you write on LinkedIn? How do you talk about yourself without sounding like you “do a bit of everything,” while also not reducing yourself to a single role just because it’s easier to explain?
You don’t have to give up half of who you are just to have a career that’s easy to explain.
Do you want your work to feel aligned with who you are?
The world of work is no longer the same
We grew up with the traditional career path: you learn something, choose a field, find a job, and keep building in the same direction for as long as possible. But quite a lot has changed since then.
-
AI is already changing what it means to “be good at your job”
Some of the things we’re paid to do today can already be done faster with AI. Others will change or disappear, while new roles will emerge that we don’t even know how to name yet.
Being really good at just one thing is no longer the safest strategy. The ability to learn, combine skills, and adapt is becoming increasingly important. -
Layoffs have pretty much shattered the illusion of job security.
We’re seeing layoffs even in companies and industries where, until recently, a good job seemed like one of the safest career choices.
You can be very good at what you do and still have your role disappear, your team restructured, or your company decide it needs something else. Your career can’t depend entirely on the existence of a single job. -
More and more work is shifting toward projects and collaborations.
Freelancing, contracts, fractional roles, projects, the gig economy.
I’m not saying employment contracts are going to disappear tomorrow. But the model where you work for the same company, on the same professional track, for 20 years is no longer the only “serious” career path. And it’s not necessarily the one we all want anymore. -
And your life doesn’t move in a straight line anyway.
There are times when you want to accelerate, and others when you want more time, flexibility, or less pressure.
Kids come along. Priorities change. You discover new things you’re good at. You get bored with some things. You return to others you left behind ten years ago.
Why should your career stay perfectly linear when you’re not?
From my perspective, the future of work belongs to people with diverse skills — polymaths who can adapt. I’m not saying there will no longer be a need for ultra-specialization in certain fields, but it shouldn’t be the only career option either.
For many of us, our ace in the hole will be exactly that: a career that brings together multiple talents, passions, and things we’re good at.
Do you want a career with a future?
Enter stage: Portfolio Career
A portfolio career means expressing your whole identity through your work.
You can have multiple roles, projects or sources of income at the same time. You can work in one field while building something else alongside it. And you can shift the balance over time, depending on where you are in life, what you want and what makes sense for you at that moment.
It doesn’t mean doing “a bit of everything” with no connection between the different parts. It means finding the thread that connects them and building a career where all those parts can coexist, without being forced to choose one and hide the others.
For me, that’s exactly what building my own career has meant.
Mine looks like this:
Career counselling
I help professionals renegotiate their relationship with work and build a more authentic career path.
HR
I work with organizations as a Fractional HR professional, building People & Culture strategies with a more human approach and aligned with the realities of the labor market.
Speaker
I speak about People & Culture, portfolio careers, and creativity in business through keynotes, panels, fireside chats, and podcasts.
Theatre
I’m an actress and theatre director, and I sometimes bring tools from acting into my work with organizations through creative workshops for teams.
How I can help you
If you want to build a career that makes room for more of who you are and what you know how to do, we can work specifically on:
- How to connect experiences, skills, and interests from different fields into a professional story that makes sense.
- How to position yourself without artificially choosing a single label just because it’s easier to explain.
- How to build your CV and LinkedIn profile when a single job title doesn’t tell the whole story.
- How to decide which directions are worth keeping, combining, or testing, and what your portfolio career could actually look like.
- How to transition from a linear career to one with multiple roles, projects, or sources of income without throwing away everything you’ve built so far.

You don’t need to have your portfolio career mapped out already
You don’t need to know exactly which roles you want to combine, what you want to keep from what you’re doing now, or how you’re going to explain it all on LinkedIn.
You just need a burning desire to stop identifying 100% with a single job and the curiosity to see whether there’s an option that fits you better.
People I’ve worked with one-on-one have gone on to successfully change careers or transition from employment to entrepreneurship, launching their own businesses in retail, beauty and professional services. So, are you ready to start this journey?
We can start with a 90-minute consultation session, and then we can build the rest through the program Career Reframing approach.
Depending on your specific circumstances, I can also offer tailored packages with a bespoke number of sessions.
